For our 10th Anniversary, we booked a little trip to the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort south of Austin. We went at the perfect 'down' time--most kids were in school and it was before Labor Day weekend. We practically had the whole place to ourselves and it was fantastic! Being the expert traveler that the Wizard is, he got us upgraded to a 'junior suite' when he told them we were celebrating our anniversary. Not too shabby, eh?
The resort has a beach area with a zero entry pool, lazy river and water slide. Marin cried the first time she went down the slide, but after that initial ride, she couldn’t wait for more!
Bike riding was a hit too!
Hands down, our favorite activity was eating s’mores every night. Marin made fast friends with the guys who handed out the supplies and they knew her by name by the end of our stay.
The days that followed involved lots more swimming and sliding.
On our last day, Marin got to meet Ribeye, the longhorn. He was all saddled up and ready to give rides.
We had such a great time and it was amazing to feel far away from home when we were less than an hour away. We hope to go back again next year!
How did 10 years pass so quickly?
