Extreme heat and a virus

Originally, our week’s plan involved dancing, lunching, swimming and an outing to the museum.  All of that came to a screeching halt when Marin came down with a fever on Monday.  Her fever spiked and she broke out in canker sores all over her bottom lip and tongue.  Ugh.  All food intake ceased and lots of crying ensued.  Jason left for California, so it’s been a long week of midnight and 3 a.m. wake-ups for this preggo mama.  I think this is God’s way of reminding me what it’s like to take care of a newborn!

Here’s a picture of my poor girl.  Despite how nasty this looks, she’s been in pretty good spirits. We braved the triple digit temps (105 today) and played in the sprinkler late this afternoon once our lawn was under a bit of shade!  This is the hottest summer on record in Texas since the 1920s.  Yuck.
