Not THREE Anymore...

We can hardly believe that our little Goldilocks is four today!  She makes us laugh each and everyday with all of her funny quirks and stories.

This morning when she woke up, she was very excited about her birthday, but that excitement dwindled quickly.  With a bit of confusion she said, "I still feel three and I still look like I'm three.  I thought I was going to be bigger!"  Oh sweet girl….

Here are a few things she's interested in as a new four-year old:

Marin loves telling knock-knock jokes.  She has a few that are good, but mostly she plays with words and makes them up as she goes.  This is her favorite 'joke' right now:
Knock-knock.
Who's there?
Mmmmmm.
Mmmmmm who?
It's me, Mmmmmm-arin. That's who!!! 

She loves to play Go Fish!  We play this game A LOT and she typically beats me.  Stinker!

She's big into dinosaurs right now.  I'll post more on that later.

She likes to play Hide-and-Go Seek….a very contrived version where she finds a good hiding spot and then tells us to go off and count.  It's a work in progress!

She has also become quite the little 'mother hen' with her brother.  If he fusses, she will run over to him and in her sweetest 'mommy' voice say, "What's wrong sweet baby?  I'm here."  That just melts my heart. 

And in her next breath, she might tell him, "Don't touch that.  It's mine!"
I guess some of that just comes with the territory.

And here's our girl four years ago.  She was such a tiny little peanut…just under 6 pounds when we brought her home.  

This was the day that we brought Marin home from the hospital!  What a sweet pink bundle.
I can almost smell the Dreft from here….

Happy Birthday, Marin!  You'll always be our little girl!
