Sloan is 20 months
Sloan has enough words in his vocabulary to carry on a little conversation with Daddy when he calls from California. It typically goes something like this:
Daddy: Hi Sloan!
Sloan: Hiiiii
D: How are you?
S: Doot

D: Who is there with you?
S: Mo-Mo (Marin), Mama, Parkey (Parker)

Thirty Something
My mini-me singing 'Appo Bufday do mommy'.

Jason took the day off of work AND arranged to have a sitter come over so that we could sneak out to a movie. (Best gift ever!!) This was such a treat…even if we did have to go to a Sci-Fi thriller. :o
By the time we got back, Sloan's eyes were full of matter (pink eye) and Marin was hacking beyond belief. We buzzed to the doctor to learn that Marin indeed had pneumonia and Sloan had pink eye AND an ear infection. Both kids ended up on antibiotics--their first time!
Happy Birthday to me…everyone is finally on the mend and sleeping through the night! (Second best gift--sleep!)

Birthday Girl
Marin has always been our little morning bird…happiest right when she blasts out of her room.
Normally, she has to stay in her room until she sees a '7' on her clock, but today she was especially excited because we told her she could come out on a '6' if she was up!

Hello, 6:01 a.m. I am FIVE!!!!

Sloan is not an early morning bird…he likes to roll out around 8:00 a.m.
He joined the party about two cups of coffee later.
Later in the afternoon, Marin ended up spiking a fever--103*, so we buzzed over to Urgent Care before it closed (Sunday). The doctor suspected pneumonia, but her chest x-ray came back clear which was a relief at the time, but the pneumonia showed up two days later when we went back to the doctor. Poor little birthday girl.
A Party, a Piñata and a Fish
At our house after the pool, Trudy, Jeff and Oliver give Marin her first fish, Rainbow!
Trudy is giving Marin all of the 'how to' instructions.
