Off She Goes!!

Marin has been begging to take the training wheels off of her bike, so this weekend it finally happened!

She's ready to give it a try on two wheels.

So excited!

 

She's been riding her Strider bike (no pedals) for about a year and it seems like it is a pretty seamless transition to a pedal bike.

Jason had to run to keep up with her!

Squealing and jumping, she was so proud of her ride…so were her mommy & daddy!

 

Memorial Day Weekend

We took advantage of the long weekend to make a trip to San Antonio.
Little did we know we were driving into one of the worst rainfalls on record in San Antonio!!
They got up to 17 inches of rain in about a day.  Fortunately, there was an indoor/outdoor pool where we spent most of our time shielded from the rain.  We contemplated going to Sea World, but the rain answered that question for us.

Marin has been reading to her brother and they both love it!

Sloan has an interest in cats, and says, "Meeeee-ohhhh!" whenever he sees one!

We packed everything up at check-out time and hit the pool one last time.

Preschool End of Year Program

Marin's little preschool class has been working on a few songs for months now!
She was so excited to finally 'perform' them for us.

She has one more day of school before summer is officially here.

 

Marin's best friend, Mia.  They are inseperable at school!

I'm so happy we get to keep her 'home' for one more year!
I'm in no rush to let her grow up!

 

Shenanigans

The kids have been having 'a ball' playing in this little pool for the last few weeks.

The giggles were endless!

We filled it up and moved it outside now that it's getting warmer.

Mother's Day and Morgan's Visit

We made it to early church on Mother's Day followed by a trip out to the Oasis.  

Morgan made her first solo flight to Texas to come visit us.
She just finished up her Freshman year at UNL!

Sloan really loves my sunglasses!

The lake is still pretty low from draught conditions.

Marin had this little glow about her all week while Morgan was with us.  She just couldn't get enough…
"Is Morgan awake?"  "Is Morgan coming to school with me?"  "I'm eating what Morgan is eating."
"I want my hair just like Morgan's!"

Did I mention she's an Elementary Education major?

 

We took Morgan swimming--our first time of the season and it was COLD!

 

We visited the DG house on the UT campus.  We were bummed that it was closed up for the summer.

We did get a few cute pictures on the anchor.
My future DG girl…Marin is convinced that Sloan will be a DG too!

We squeezed in a little Texas history lesson.  It truly is an impressive building…even on your 10th visit!

 

While Marin was at school one day, we walked the YMCA trail and fed the ducks.
Sloan loves this!  He was shouting, "Duck!  Duck!"  

Sloan was being so sweet giving Morgan hugs and kisses after bath time.
He would walk away and then he'd turn around and hug and kiss her again.
He's just the sweetest little man.

All good things must come to an end, but it was certainly fun while it lasted!
Hopefully we'll get all three sisters down here next time.
