5 months old

Our little man is 5 months old!

He weighed in at 16 pounds 9 ounces and is 27.25 inches long--he grew nearly 2 inches in a month!  He's in the 50th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height and his head circumference is in the 98th percentile!  His doctor said he's the length of an average 8 month old baby!  BIG BOY!

Here are all of the cute things he's doing now:

He found his toes!

He's got a darling smile and is social as long as Mommy or Daddy are holding him!  He's entered the 'stranger danger' phase.

He's pushing up...

and holding his head so high!

He can roll back to front and front to back all the way across the room!

He's enjoying solids!  So far he's had rice cereal, oatmeal, applesauce, pear sauce, apricots, prunes and bananas.  The solids are hard on his little insides, so we're taking it slowly.  Marin and I are having fun making his baby food.  Her favorite is the pear sauce.  Yummo!

He's getting the hang of using a sippy cup.  Nice form, Sloany!

We unpacked the exersaucer and he gets very excited when we put him in it.  His head/neck are still a little wobbly, so just a few minutes at a time is all he gets for now.

He's making new friends.  Here he is next to sweet Baby Jack who is only one week old today!  I can't wait to see these two boys grow up together!

We just love this age and stage!

Missing her Daddy

Jason's travel schedule has ramped up in 2012 and this little princess waits all week to be reunited with her daddy.  Here's a typical Friday morning when she's all smiles in her jammies because Daddy is home for breakfast!

Walking him out the door for his workday in Austin...still pounding around in his shoes!

We are blessed to have a daddy who works so hard for us, but the time away isn't easy for anyone.  He's stuck in California right now with a 4 a.m. arrival time in Austin.  Blek.  Fortunately, we're heading into a long weekend so he'll get an extra day to recoup….and hopefully I will too!

My Monkeys

This was my first Mother's Day as a mommy of two!  How blessed am I?

My goal for the day was to not cook a thing and Jason made that happen.  Thanks, Daddy!
Our day started with a treat from Marin's favorite 'Donut Shopper' and Starbucks.  Then we went out for lunch and Jason grilled dinner for us.  Amen.  It was a fantastic day!  Not to mention I got a brand new spiffy SCALE.  Yes, a scale.  But I asked for it and I can tell you how much I weigh in Grams, Kilograms,  Ounces or Pounds now.  Ha.  I also got a sweet mommy necklace from my babies.

Sloany 4 months old.

My big girl is 3 years old.

I love you both to the moon and back and I'm so lucky to be your mama!

First 'Swim' of the Summer

It's starting to warm up in Texas so we filled up the baby pool in our backyard!  Marin had a blast filling it up and bouncing in and out of it all morning.  I'm guessing we will get lots of use out of her pool this summer as I'm not sure how brave I'm going to feel managing Marin and the baby at our big neighborhood pool.
She insisted on wearing her goggles even though she never gets her face wet when she swims!

Brrrr….it's cold!

So excited!

So Marin...

According to Marin, there aren't enough opportunities in a day to have a tea party!  She served 'tea' to Sloan and I all morning long and had great fun doing it.  She's on this funny kick where she will call me 'Your Majesty.'  "Would you care for some tea, Your Majesty?"  "Good Morning, Your Majesty!"  "I'd like a drink of juice, Your Majesty."  etc.  I think she's really on to something!  *wink*
