Many Moods of Marin

Three-year old girls can be very silly….

and sometimes pouty….

and sometimes distraught….

and sometimes very distraught….

and sometimes worried….

and almost always back to silly again!

 ….and repeat!

First Solids

Sloan started solid foods this month. Here's his first attempt at rice cereal.
He was very eager and 'opened up' all the way for his first bite!

Reaching in for the spoon.  He's got the hang of this gig.

Success!!  It was delicious…even with his cape on backwards. :)

4 Months Old

Sweet little Sloany is 4 months old!  We are constantly amazed how quickly his first year is passing.

He continues to be as bright-eyed and snuggly as his big sis and smiles whenever we talk to him.  He has just started giggling and it's impossible not to giggle back when you hear that belly laugh coming from such a little baby!

We love this smile...

Our little man weighed in at 15.2 pounds at his 4 month check (50th percentile) and was 26 inches long (60th percentile) and his head was 44.3 cm (90th percentile).  He's all brains?!

When he was on the examining table, he was rolling and kicking and by the time we were done with the appointment, the paper covering on the table was ripped to shreds!  His doctor said, "He certainly is light on his feet-he'll probably be an early walker/crawler."  I think she's right.  When he's not rolling, he's lifting his little bottom and pushing with his feet to gain more real estate!  Stinker.

Here's Bear and Baby.

Marin wanted in on the action too--another opportunity to practice her 'full Nelson' on her brother.

That's better….

Here's Marin at 4 months.  A less chunky version of her brother.

Easter

Today is the day that represents sacrifice, miracles and a belief in something greater than yourself.

We giggled that there were two Easter miracles for our family this year:

1.) We made it to church with both kids fed and dressed 5 minutes early.
2.) We got a decent family picture where everyone is looking at the camera.

We spent Easter day with our good friends, the Bloomquists.  Marin had a blast hunting for eggs this year.

She was very proud of her efforts.  At one point she was grabbing rocks to put in her bucket because 'they looked like eggs and *might* have a treat in them!'  Ha.

The best part was cracking confetti eggs on her daddy's head!

She got a little confetti-sprinkled too!

Sloan was a good baby and just watched all of the action.  Thanks, Bridgette and AJ for hosting such a fun day!  Happy Easter!

Peter Cottontail

Our neighborhood had its annual egg hunt in the park and a visit from the Easter Bunny.  Marin was very excited to see him this year and she decided that she would bring him carrots.  He was thrilled to get such a healthy treat and Marin got a few little candy treats from him in return…not a bad deal for her.

Sloan's first Easter--3 months old.

The egg hunt was a big hit too.

My boys.  So sweet….

This baby bunny couldn't get any cuter.  I could just eat him up!

 Happy Easter!

Egg-stra Fun

Dyeing Easter eggs was a hit this year!
1.) None of the eggs cracked during the boiling process.  Yay!
2.) Nobody ended up with blue hands.  Astonishing!
3.)  None of the dye cups spilled.  Whew!

Admiring her work...

I'm not sure this silly goose will eat a white/brown egg ever again!
