Traveling Man

Our friend Stephan came for a visit all the way from Frankfurt, Germany.  He was in the States presenting his thesis and made an extra stop to see us in Austin.  How nice is that??

Marin l-o-v-e-d every minute she got to spend with Stephan and he was a very good sport to entertain her….watching her favorite tv show {Dinosaur Train}, playing Go Fish and even taking a little afternoon snooze with her when she threw a fit about having to take a nap!

Taking a little hike in our neighborhood.

The boys went to the shooting range for a little entertainment.  I think it was great fun for both of them.

Lunch at Rudy's and dinner at Chuy's was a perfect way to wrap up a fun visit.

Thanks for coming to see us, Stephan.  We loved having you!

Preschool Bound

Marin had so much fun touring preschools this month.  She wanted to wear a 'fancy' dress to go on her school visits and she's beyond excited about entering the big kid world of 'going to school.'  Honestly, I'm less excited about it as I know this will be the end of keeping her in our little 'bubble'.  We won't have control over what she hears, who she plays with or how others treat her and this is scary for her mama.  Despite my feelings, I know she'll be more than ready for school and she'll love it.

She'll start a 2 day program in the fall and she can hardly wait!

Cheese!

Spread your wings and fly, sweet girl!

Be Mine

While we were making Valentine's for our friends, we discovered that Marin can spell a new word!
She can spell two words all by herself:
1. M-A-R-I-N
2. D-A-D
Why D-A-D? M-O-M is just as easy to spell, right? We'll have to work on that one a little more! Nonetheless, I'm such a proud M-O-M!
We started our Valentine's Day reading a few cards...
And opening a few gifts. She got a 'cleaning' kit. She loves to clean and now she has her own mop, sponges, a dust-buster vacuum, etc. It was a hit!
We headed to the library this morning for a puppet show, but once we got there she decided she just wanted to play games on the computer. She's a lot like her D-A-D!!
We met up with Marin's bestie, Leah, and headed over to the park to play & have a little picnic. It was nearly 80 degrees today! What a treat!
Even though they are little people they have a big love for each other. Marin adores her baby brother and he loves her just as much! As for their D-A-D and I, we feel so fortunate to be entrusted with these two amazing kids. They are the loves of our lives.
Sloan is nearly 2 months old already! He's as sweet as can be and we can't seem to kiss and love on him enough during the day! He's such a blessing to our little family!
Happy 1st Valentine's Day, Sweet Sloan!

Can you tell me how to get...

…to Sesame Street?!  This was our second year to go to Sesame Stree Live {Elmo Makes Music} and Marin loved it just as much as she did last year.  Marin loved seeing all of the larger than life characters...  Elmo and Grover were her favorites.

Marin & Daddy

Loving the show!

We brought our big camera into the show WITHOUT the memory card, so it was useless.  UGH.  So all of these pictures were taken with our phones.

Sloan came along too and slept through most of the action only to wake up to take a bottle and go right back to sleep.  He continues to amaze us with how laid back and go-with-the-flow he is.

This was our first 'big outing' with Sloan and it was a success.

We can't wait to do more with our new family of four!
