Poor Parker
On the same day that Lily was born, Marin & I were playing outside when Parker heard a loud noise (think: diesel truck/motorcycle) and shot off our back deck like he was a mad-man on a mission forgetting that he’s 10 years old. I hollered at him to ‘settle,’ but that wasn’t enough to stop him. The next thing we heard was squealing and moaning. Parker was laying in the grass and couldn’t get up.
Of course this happened when: 1.) dinner was in the oven 2.) Jason was on the road 3.) 20 minutes before our vet’s office closed. I called our vet right away to tell them that Parker wasn’t putting any weight on his back right leg & they told me to come right away. So I: 1.) loaded the dog into the car 2.) packed up some dinner for Marin 3.) drove like a crazy lady so we could get to the vet before they closed. Ugh.
The diagnosis? The doggy version of a torn ACL…torn ligaments & a floating knee cap.
Parker has been put on strict restrictions and ‘bed rest’ for the next month with an impending surgery (probably) to repair the damage so he can regain mobility. *sniffle*
We rigged our outdoor chairs so that Parker could get a little fresh air during the day and not jump down. Marin is helping him ‘feel better’ singing him songs. The rest of his day is spent in the office laying low with Jason.
Lillian Louise Arrives
Marin was so excited for her new cousin ‘to come out of Auntie Amanda’s belly!’ Here’s a picture of Marin with her favorite puppy stuffed under shirt ‘just like Auntie Amanda!’ If only it were this easy, right??
We can’t wait to meet Baby Lily. She’s absolutely gorgeous. Congrats Auntie Amanda & Uncle Nick!

Halfway to three…how can it be?
February marks Marin’s ‘half’ birthday.
Thanks to our talented friend, Bridgette, we have these fantastic pictures to make us smile for many years to come!
Be My Valentine
Marin was very excited about Valentine’s Day this year and had a great time making cards and doing a few activities.
It was going so well until…
she got her hands messy! Oh dear.
Sorting candy hearts was so much fun…
especially when her mouth was full of them!
Attempting to make a graph! Ha.
The graphing was a bust, but you can see she’s a master of writing “M” and the number “2.”
Here’s her Valentine scooter and ladybug pillow pet.
She drags Ladybug everywhere.
Taking Ladybug for a scooter ride.
I hope you had a Valentine’s Day as sweet as ours!
P.S.
Here’s a picture of Goldilocks last year at this time.

Jumping Bean gets a Trampoline
We have been wanting to buy a trampoline for some time now. We decided to finally pull the trigger when we got a killer deal at Sam’s Club. It’s too long of a story to type, in short: the manager quoted us the wrong price over the phone and we got this mack-daddy trampoline for 150 bucks plus the price of a membership to Sam’s Club. Score!!
The Wizard brought his ‘A’ game to conquer this project.
He didn’t get an MBA for nothin’ folks!
The child waits patiently.
The child continues to wait.
The Wizard continues to put his top-notch education to work while I document from the sidelines.
The child plays and watches very closely.
Once the frame was put together it only took us about 3 more hours of work to get to this point….
JUMPING!!!
MORE JUMPING!
HALF-NAKED JUMPING!
A little snuggling for a job well-done.
And finally a little rest for the weary. The end.

Snopocalypse 2011
This has been one of the most wide-spread storms in a very long time. Fortunately, we don’t live in a place where we have to shovel snow anymore!
The Austin area schools have had several late starts this past week and the kids finally got a much anticipated snow day today! Marin had fun kicking the snow around, but wasn’t interested in getting her hands cold OR dirty. She had way more fun being pushed in her car and making tracks in the snow with her bike.
Snow-schmo! Let’s ride!
