Family Pictures

Our sweet and talented friend Bridgette once again captured some very sweet pictures of our family!
After the drought we've been having in Texas, we were lucky to find a lush little spot.

Sloan was rubbing Jason's whiskers saying, "Tickle-wee," and that made everyone laugh.

Our big girl is five!

Sloan was just shy of turning two in these pictures.

I love those sweet curls!

These two are happiest when they are together.  I hope they grow up to be best of friends.

Thanksgiving in Nebraska

This flight back to Nebraska was our easiest one to date with both kids.  Sloan is getting to an age where he will watch the iPad or draw for chunks of time without getting too restless.

Marin is our expert traveler.  She occupies herself nicely.

Here is Sloan not occupying himself very nicely.

We made it back the night before my Grandma's 95th birthday.
Here is my sweet Grandma Ruthie with my Aunt Linda.  Linda takes very good care of my grandma checking in on her daily and making sure she has everything she needs.

It seems like it wasn't that long ago that Grandma was making us cookies and filling her candy drawer with Hubba Bubba and Bubble-licious bubble gum!  She still sends birthday cards to all of her grandkids and 30-some great-grandchildren.  How fortunate we are to have her!

We got to see my sister and the girls briefly in Norfolk as they had to hustle back to Beatrice for practices and Bob's shoulder surgery.  Our time went too fast!!

We were between Norfolk and Columbus trying to see our cousins as much as possible.
Marin loooves to play with Lily and Maddie!

This was Conner and Ashley's train set and they were generous to set it up so that Marin and Sloan could play with it!

The kids had a blast chasing kitties on the farm.  Marin took tractor rides with my brother, but Sloan thought Johnny Tractor was too loud...maybe next time!

Milo was giving Sloan kisses!  Sloan squealed...

Marin wants a cat so badly.  My brother wants to get rid of the farm cats so badly!  Ha.

Back in Columbus, the girls decorated cookies with Nana.

Jason went to the Nebraska football game on Friday and then met us in Omaha for the Sonderman Thanksgiving at Happy Hollow Country Club.

His cousin and clone, Brandon.

All of the Cumberland cousins in their Christmas jammies from Nana!
So cute!

Marin's Thanksgiving PreK Program

Marin's teacher invited parents into the classroom for a little Thanksgiving snack and performance.
Marin has only 12 kids in her class and they really are a sweet group of kids.
They were all lined up to sing us a couple songs!

Sloan was enjoying a relaxing moment in the reading nook in Marin's classroom.

Singing to the tune of I'm a Little Teapot

"I'm a little Indian from long ago,
Here is my arrow, here is my bow.
When I go a hunting here me shout,
'BEAR, BUFFALO, you better watch out!"

"Goodmorning, Mr. Turkey.  Thanksgiving's almost here
And I've come to tell you that you better disappear.
Mother doesn't know it, nor does Farmer Gray
Shhhh...I've opened up the gate so you can run away!
Run away!!  Run away!  Run, run, run you better run away!"

All dolled up for her show!

Kiddie Acres

This was a memorable hot weekend!  No matter how long I live in Texas, I will never get used to 90 degree weather in November!  Ack!
Despite the heat (and sunscreen!), the kids had a blast at Kiddie Acres.

Jason with Sloan on a little boat ride.

The airplane ride was a favorite!

A little train ride came next.

And back to the airplane ride!

Ferris wheel!

And a very sweaty pony ride!

The kids are begging to go back, so hopefully we'll get that done before the heat sets in again!

Sloan’s Dedication

Sloan was dedicated to our church family in October.  There was little breakfast before the service and we got to visit with other families dedicating their children.

See that time on the oven??  7:52 a.m.!!!  Everyone was dressed, brushed, and ready to roll.  This is no small feat for us!

After Sloan’s dedication—so proud giving his best CHEESE!

Our sweet boy.

"Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.  I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.  When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.  Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life."
Proverbs 3:21-24

Daddy’s Birthday

Jason took the day off of work to celebrate #36!  Happy Birthday!!!

We took him out for doughnuts, made the trip to Fry’s (his favorite), grabbed some ice cream in the afternoon, and then took him out for dinner.  We ate our way through the day I guess!

Berry Cool…our favorite little yogurt shop.

No one will look at the camera.

At Reunion Grille for dinner—Jason liked the live music and Sloan liked digging pennies out of the fountain and tossing them back in.  Recycling wishes?!?

Marin was dancing with another little girl.  It was a beautiful night.

We ate birthday cake and opened a few gifts later in the evening.

Sloan L O V E S cake.  He always says, “Mmmmmm!"

The original sugar baby!

Bourbon!

Electronics for the Wizard!  Surprise!!!!

More gizmos to make his heart palpitate.

Sloan can’t wait for more cake!  He’s our next birthday boy!
I’m guessing he’ll grow up to like black boxes, wires and gizmos just like his daddy!
